Our mission

Garage Sale exists to make it easy — and a little more fun — to swap what you have for what you actually want, with people in your own neighbourhood. No shipping, no middleman, no waiting around for a stranger's payment to clear. Just a fair, direct trade between two people who both walk away better off.

Why we built this

Most online marketplaces are built for buying and selling. We wanted something different: a place built specifically for trading — where the currency isn't cash, it's the things already sitting in your closet, garage, or bookshelf.

How it works, in short

You list what you have or describe what you want, browse what your neighbours are offering, propose a trade, and meet up locally to make the swap. We handle the parts that make trading with a stranger feel safe: verified accounts, trader ratings, and an Untrusted flag for anyone who doesn't follow through.

How we make money

We don't take a cut of your trade. Instead, we charge a small, flat, non-refundable fee each time you publish a listing — that's it. Proposing, accepting, messaging, and completing trades are always free.
